Londres

Forty LES students from eight different countries and five members of staff visited London to see many of the famous landmarks. A lot was crammed into five very full days of sight-seeing and exploring this wonderful city. Pupils enjoyed seeing The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre on the first night after a meal in Maxwell’s in Convent Garden. The following day they went to the top of St Paul’s Cathedral to see the stunning views over the whole of London. It was then onto the bus and over to Warner Bros. and the making of Harry Potter. The tour of the studios gave students an insight into the world of movies. On Friday it was an early start and a long walk to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guards. From there the group walked to see The Horse Guard, (and the sign is right – the horses do bite!), the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and of course, Big Ben. The afternoon was spent on the bus travelling from famous shop to famous shop and finally a tour of London by night completed a very busy day. Everyone was exhausted by the time they returned to the hostel! Saturday was taken up by the Natural History Museum, London Dungeons and a meal at Planet Hollywood and Sunday students enjoyed free time at the very vibrant Camden Market and the views from the London Eye. Melena was the winner at bowling in the early evening and then it was dinner and time to pack up for an early start to head home the next day.

Everyone enjoyed the very busy five days in London. We hope to repeat the trip in the next academic year!
